Reservation Policy for Admission

In accordance with the State Government of Bihar & Affiliating Authorities

Mata Sita Sunder College of Education (MSSCE) strictly adheres to the reservation mandate prescribed by the Government of Bihar and its affiliating bodies, including B.R.A. Bihar University and the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).

Our policy ensures equitable representation for socially and economically disadvantaged groups across all academic programs, including Teacher Education, Law, and Professional courses, based on the total sanctioned intake.

Category-Wise Reservation Quota

The seat distribution is divided into Open Merit (50%) and Reserved Category (50%) as follows:

Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

A 10% reservation is provided for EWS candidates from the General Category, as mandated by State and Central Government directives. This quota is allocated from the Unreserved/Open Merit Category seats.

Horizontal Reservations

PwD Quota: 3-5% seats are horizontally reserved across all categories for Persons with Disabilities.
Freedom Fighters: Priority/Quota for dependents as per latest Government notifications.

Institutional Guidelines

Merit-Based Selection: Reserved category candidates selected on pure merit will be counted under the Open Merit Category and will not exhaust the reserved quota.
Mandatory Documentation: Applicants must produce valid, current Caste/Category certificates issued by a competent authority of the Bihar State Government. Missing documentation will result in the application being processed under the Unreserved (General) Category.
Seat Utilization: Inter-category exchange (e.g., between SC/ST or EBC/BC) may be facilitated per the Bihar Reservation Act to ensure maximum seat occupancy.
